First responders were honored for the sacrifices they make Sept. 9 at St. Anthony Cathedral Basilica, Beaumont during a Blue Mass in memory of the Sept. 11 tragedy.
“When I think about first responders I look to the cross because it is a sacrifice that they make. They put their lives on the line and they don’t always make it back. It’s an incredible service,” Bishop Guillory said.
After Mass attendees processed to the prayer garden where a memorial was dedicated. Bishop Guillory blessed emergency vehicles and first responders with the Holy Water Rite.
