The St. Anne Home and School Association for St. Anne Catholic School, Beaumont, hosted its first “Picture Lady” presentation Nov. 18 for grades PreK through 3rd. Its first featured artist was Father Rodel Faller, parochial vicar of St. Anne Parish. Father Faller paints in abstract form and showed the students some of his abstract art and discussed the use of texture in his artwork. The students were then able to explore firsthand how textures are created in art by making their own abstract design using paint and household items.
Picture Lady is a committee of our Home and School Association and is an award-winning art appreciation program that aspires to improve student’s appreciation of the arts by encouraging the understanding, awareness and the sensitivity to the work of an artist.
