The 2011 Diocesan Liturgical Conference kicked off Aug. 5 at St. Jude Thaddeus, Beaumont, with Father James Burkart as the keynote speaker. Father Burkart, an Orange native and a priest for the Archdiocese of Galveston-Houston, energized those in attendance and spoke on listening to God.
“In our relationships with God we can’t always be the one talking,” he said.
Father Burkart said that first it’s necessary to discern God’s call, but “you have to make a response when you hear God’s call.”
He explained to those in attendance that God works through them.
