New pastoral center dedicated
Thanks to the faithfulness and dedication of the people of Southeast Texas the Diocese of Beaumont opened the doors to its new Pastoral Center April 3.
“This building would not be possible without the work of so many people. Our capital campaign was a success, and I want to thank all of those who helped make it possible. This building is a small part of the good work you have done,” Bishop Curtis Guillory, SVD, said.Citizens and clergy from all over the diocese and beyond gathered for vespers at St. Anthony Cathedral Basilica before processing to the dedication.
Bishop Guillory was joined at the ribbon cutting by Cardinal Daniel DiNardo, archbishop of Galveston-Houston, Archbishop Emeritus Joseph Fiorenza of the Galveston-Houston, vicar general Msgr. Michael Jamail, Beaumont mayor Becky Ames, the capital campaign chairs John and Linda Duplissey and director of construction Charlie Messina.
