Msgr. John DiStefano passed away March 15 at Christus Hospital-St. Elizabeth, Beaumont. He was 84. Bishop Curtis J. Guillory, SVD, will celebrate a Mass of Christian Burial at 11 a.m. Saturday, March 19, at St. Anthony Cathedral Basilica, Beaumont, with Msgr. Salvador Culotta giving the homily.

It is a time of reflection, a time of prayer, almsgiving and fasting which prepares Catholics for coming of Easter.
The last day of the Southeast Texas Mardi Gras began in a very spiritual way. Farther Sinclair Oubre, pastor of St. John the Evangelist, Port Arthur, celebrated Mass with vendors and volunteers working at Mardi Gras March 6.
