At a Jan. 9 Mass at Holy Family Retreat Center, nine men were admitted to the candidacy for permanent diaconate and one for transitional diaconate. Bishop Curtis J. Guillory, SVD, said that he is grateful for the deacon candidates and their responding to the call.
People from throughout the diocese gathered Jan. 8 at St. Anthony Cathedral Basilica, Beaumont, to commemorate the birthday of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Bishop Curtis Guillory, SVD, led a morning prayer service and reflected on the life of civil rights leader.
