High school aged youth took their kicking skills to the field Oct. 9 for the Diocesan Kickball Tournament. The 18 teams composed of 24 parishes took on each other at the Beaumont Athletic Complex. The St. Jude Thaddeus, Beaumont, team took home first place, Infant Jesus, Lumberton, youth placed second, and St. Charles Borromeo, Nederland, came in third, with St. Maurice, Mauriceville, placing fourth. There’s still time for the junior high aged youth to register for their tournament Oct. 23 at the Beaumont Athletic Complex. Any youth interested in playing should contact their parish youth minister. The deadline for teams to register is Oct. 15, and the registration fee is $20. After that date, late fees will apply. Check in for the tournament will begin at 9 a.m.
