Family and friends came to the Holy Family Retreat Center, Beaumont, May 23 to honor Msgr. Michael Jamail, vicar general for the Diocese of Beaumont, on the 50th anniversary of his ordination to the priesthood.
Father Joseph Khanh Ho welcomed everyone and acted as the master of ceremonies for the evening.
“We are so grateful to have someone like Michael to guide us with his wisdom and rule over us with his Iron Fist,” Father Ho said.
Msgr. Bennie Patillo, Father Martin Nelson and Msgr. William Manger all shared stories about their friendships with Msgr. Jamail. Father David Edwards entertained the crowd with impersonations of Msgr. Jamail, priests and others.
“I want to thank you all so much. There’s no one on earth I respect more than priests. The thing about the priesthood is you never know what to do until you start doing it. It means a lot to hear these stories of our time shared together,” Msgr. Jamail said.
