Many things can be accomplished in an hour of time including strengthening a presbyterate.
This was part of the message from Bishop Curtis Guillory, SVD, March 16 as he led a Holy Hour for Priests as part of the celebrations for Year for Priests at St. Jude Thaddeus, Beaumont.
More than 30 priests from throughout the diocese joined Bishop Guillory for the hour of adoration and fellowship. He expressed how important it is for the busy priests to stop for prayer.
“Even our Lord took time to pray,” Bishop Guillory said.
He spoke with the priests about how easy it is to get caught up in their ministries and how they should take part in one of the wonderful gifts of the church, adoration.
Bishop Guillory said that one of the advantages of having the holy hour with the priests is the fellowship. He said the hour can help strengthen each of the priests in their ministries as well as the presbyterate as a whole.
“We face a lot of challenges today and we are affected by it. We need the support and encouragement of each other. By our fellowship we are strengthening one another,” Bishop Guillory said.
